Dear Green Cooling community,
Some time has passed since our last newsletter - we had technical problems which prevented the sending in March.
Despite the delay, this newsletter wants to draw attention to the International Women's Day that was celebrated on the 8th of March. Women are still underrepresented in the cooling sector. However, things are changing. And we as Proklima support these changes towards the Sustainable Development Goal #5, Gender Equality. This newsletter therefore gives the word to female voices. Read about female refrigeration technicians in Senegal, Grenada, Brazil and Kenya. Or listen to the lady participants of last year's Cool Trainings in Germany who tell about their challenges - and about why they are passionate about working in refrigeration and air conditioning.
Another highlight of the past months was the visit of the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck, at our partner training institute in Colombia. We felt very honoured and are looking forward to a continued cooperation.
The upcoming months promise to keep being exciting. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the OEWG in July. And please save the date: The Green Cooling Summit 2023 will take place on 10+11 October! This year's topic are cold chains.
Thank you for your valued cooperation and trust. We would especially like to express our gratitude to our commissioners without whom our project work would not be possible: the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and the European Union (EU).
Enjoy reading & stay cool,
 Bernhard Siegele
